These forms are loosely based off ancient vertical loom weights recovered in excavations at the Palatine Hill, adjacent to the Roman Forum in Rome. The original objects, simple and curved, once served as tools for an inherent part of life: the weaving of cloth to comfort, clothe, and keep warm. My sculptures live as reverberations of daily presence as harmonious forms with a reflecting pool effect. This particular piece has an added element that reflects building ruin fragments.

On top of these sculptural forms I melt combinations of raw materials, oxides, and frit. Even when the exact same materials are used, the patterns and effects vary widely. Every piece is one of a kind and tiny little material phenomenon.
