Elaine Buss is a ceramic and mixed media artist from Lively Grove, Illinois. Her work has been displayed nationally through various solo, group, and invitational exhibitions. In May 2010 and May 2011 she held solo exhibitions of her sculpture, ceramics, and drawings. She has received various awards and scholarships, including the Dan Anderson Honorary Arrowmont Scholarship. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in spring of 2010. Elaine has been a volunteer at the Cup Sale at the Annual Conference of the National Council on Education for Ceramics Arts, from which proceeds are donated to scholarships, since 2009. Elaine served as Assistant Head and, subsequently, Head of Ceramics at Snow Farm Craft Program in Williamsburg, Massachusetts for the High School Summer Program from 2010-2012. She now resides in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina as a resident at Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts. Her focus in clay and art is not only to make, but also to educate and share.
